Community Access Project Worker Recruited

The recently advertised post of Community Access Project Worker has now been filled.

Morag McMillan has taken up the post since October 1st 2018 in the Town Hall where she will work closely with the rest of the team.

Morag moved to the area in 2014 with her husband Hamish, a Campbeltonian by birth, to enjoy the benefits of living in a rural community after spending many years in the city.

She began volunteering almost immediately with the TSI and SKDT, and was soon offered a post as Administrative Assistant with SKDT before graduating to Volunteer Organiser. Morag has a Bachelor of Education Degree and a range of qualifications pertinent to her role working within the community.

Based within the Town Hall, but also working with the community, her responsibilities include:

  • Creating learning and volunteering opportunities
  • Promoting involvement in social, recreational, cultural and civic activities
  • Increasing events in the area
  • Managing a drop in resource for the dissemination of information

Morag said, “I have always loved being involved in community projects. While teaching I was involved in the school recycling projects and enjoyed the challenges it brought. I have also worked with scout groups, gardening groups and craft groups. My interests include craft, gardening, and interior design, but I am always up for a challenge and look forward to making this project work. I will initially focus on customer care and service delivery, value for money and innovation working with partners and stakeholders to make a difference in the community.”

Join everyone in welcoming Morag.

You will find her in the Town Hall Office from Tuesday to Friday, and can reach her on (01586) 552870, or email
