Community development plan - Be Involved!
The South Kintyre Development Trust (SKDT) and the South Kintyre Area Development Group (formerly the Campbeltown Area Development Group) are hosting a meeting of all social enterprises, voluntary groups and community councils in the area to discuss the voluntary sector's future. This meeting is the start of the consultation on a community development plan for the voluntary sector in South Kintyre. The meeting is on Wednesday 1st September in the Town Hall Council Chambers at 7:30pm.
If your group is involved in charitable work or work for the benefit of the local community then this meeting will be of relevance to you. We would ask that if your organisation does not meet before the 1st September that you or another representative attends the meeting.
The voluntary sector is changing in South Kintyre. Less Council support, cut backs of services in the area, less funding for local groups and events, means it is becoming increasingly hard to maintain the voluntary sector in its current form. In light of this problem the South Kintyre Area Development Group and SKDT have agreed to create a community plan to ensure that in the next 5-10 years the needs of the community are met.
The purpose of this meeting is to ensure that as many views as possible are included so please ensure that you do not miss out by attending the meeting or registering your interest. Apologies, questions and registration of interest should be sent to the South Kintyre Development Trust
