Monitor your electricity online!
Manufacturer of real-time energy displays Current Cost has signed up with Google to make its PowerMeter online tool to UK customers. Current cost monitors are available from SKDT's Powerdown officer to help you reduce your energy consumption.
Users will be able to sign up to Google PowerMeter, which will connect to Current Cost’s displays, providing real-time energy consumption information on a homepage accessible from anywhere.
“As a result of our landmark agreement with Google, users now have immediate and flexible access to information that will enable them to change their energy habits,” says Current Cost managing director, Martin Dix.
Over a million domestic users in the UK and abroad are already using Current Cost’s displays, says the company, and the new deal will provide a wide range of customisable information, web feeds and Google Gadgets.
Last year, first:utility and British Gas became the first companies to make Google’s PowerMeter available to UK customers.
