West Kintyre Survey Results

The survey results for the communities of Kilkenzie, Bellochantuy, Glenbarr, Muasdale, Tayinloan, Clachan and Whitehouse have been completed and are attached to this post.

All 462 homes received a survey 288 surveys were handed back and another 20 online surveys where submitted. A total response of 308. Each community had their survey results analysed separately.

Top 'Like'
The respondents from all of the communities each stated that the People and Nature of the communities was their top like about the area.

Top 'Dislike'
Kilkenzie/Tangy - Antisocial behaviour
Bellochantuy - Road Speeds through the village
Glenbarr - Lack of facilities for youngsters (a playpark)
Muasdale - Road speeds through the village
Tayinloan - Apathy within the community
Clachan - Need for more families/lack of support for community events
Whitehouse - Condition of the roads

What would make it better?
Kilkenzie/Tangy - Create more jobs
Bellochantuy - Reduce speed limit through the village
Glenbarr - Facilities/Activities for young people
Muasdale - Reduce speed limits through villages
Tayinloan - Services and facilities
Clachan - Create more jobs
Whitehouse - Better broadband/Mobile coverage

What should happen first?
Kilkenzie/Tangy - Improve the roads
Bellochantuy - Reduce the speed limit through the village
Glenbarr - A playpark/sports field
Muasdale - A pavement through the village
Tayinloan - Improvements to the playpark
Clachan - Improve economy/Keep the school open
Whitehouse - Road Improvements
